Punto reportedly hangs up spikes after 14 seasons

After sitting out the 2015 season, veteran infielder Nick Punto has decided to retire, according to a report from FOX Sports.
Punto made his Major League debut with the Phillies in 2001, and he also spent time with the Twins, Cardinals, Red Sox, Dodgers and A's throughout his 14-year career.
The 38-year old won a World Series ring in 2011 as a member of the Cardinals. In his one season with St. Louis, Punto batted .278 in 63 games and played in 15 games during the Cardinals' postseason run, collecting three hits in the World Series.
Perhaps Punto's best season came in 2006 with the Twins, when he set career highs in batting average (.290), doubles (21), stolen bases (17) and RBIs (45).
Punto finished his career with a lifetime .245 batting average in 1,163 games played.
