Torres named Texas League Player of the Week

Outfielders Hunter Renfroe and Alex Dickerson were among six El Paso Chihuahuas to have three or more hits Sunday as the Pacific Coast League's Pacific Southern Division leaders totaled 23 hits in a 10-6 victory at Fresno.
It was the seventh straight win for the 34-22 Chihuahuas, who have won 13 of their last 14 games.  
El Paso isn't the only Padres' affiliate on the move.
Low Single-A Fort Wayne celebrated Parkview Field being named the top Single-A ballpark with a 4-1 win over Dayton. The 31-26 TinCaps have won two straight and seven of their last 10.
And Double-A San Antonio left fielder Nick Torres was named the Texas League Player of the week. Torres hit .545 (12-for-22) in six games last week with five doubles, a homer and three RBIs. He led the Texas League last week in hits, total bases (20), slugging percentage (.909) and OPS (1.392).
Back at El Paso, shortstop Nick Noonan and catcher Rocky Gale led El Paso with four hits apiece Sunday. Noonan (.353) was 4-for-5 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored. Gale (.291) was 4-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored.
Dickerson (.424) was 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, two walks, a RBI and a run scored. Renfroe (.318) was 3-for-6 with his 20th double, three RBIs and a run scored.
First baseman-right fielder Ryan Schimpf (.333) was 3-for-6 with his 12th homer, two RBIs and two runs scored. Third baseman Casey McElroy (.314) was 3-for-6. Center fielder Manuel Margot (.305) went 2-for-6 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored to extend his hitting streak to eight straight games.
Right-hander Aaron Northcraft (5.40 earned run average) allowed four runs on five hits and a walk with five strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings. Right-hander Louis Distacio, who was promoted to the Chihuahuas from San Antonio earlier Sunday, allowed two runs on a hit and two walks with a strikeout in 1 1/3 innings in his PCL debut.
Right-hander Michael Dimock (1-0, 2.08 ERA) allowed a hit with four strikeouts in 2 1/3 scoreless innings to get the win. Right-hander Eric Yardley (1.23) had a strikeout in a perfect inning. Left-hander Daniel Moskos (2.05) allowed a hit in a scoreless inning.
At Fort Wayne, left-handed starter Thomas Dorminy (2.45 ERA) allowed a run on five hits and a walk with six strikeouts in six innings. Left-hander Jerry Keel (3-4, 1.33) allowed a walk with three strikeouts in two scoreless innings. Right-hander Gerardo Reyes (2.45) had a strikeout in a scoreless inning to get the save.
Center fielder Michael Gettys (.295) was 3-for-5 with a double and a RBI. 1B Brad Zunica (.253) was 2-for-3 with a RBI and was hit by a pitch. Designated hitter Ty France (.249) was 1-for-1 with two RBIs, two walks and a hit by a pitch. Left fielder Kodie Tidwell (.237) was 1-for-3 with two walks and a run scored.
Former infielder Diego Goris returned to San Antonio Sunday from extended spring training as a catcher. That led the Missions to return catcher A.J. Kennedy to Fort Wayne and the TinCaps to move catcher Kyle Overstreet to extended spring training. Distacio replaced right-handed reliever Kevin Quackenbush, who was recalled to the Padres from El Paso.  
AROUND THE FARM:
DOUBLE-A SAN ANTONIO (17-38) - ARKANSAS 4, Missions 3 - Torres (.306) and 1B Taylor Lindsey (.219) were each 3-for-4 with a double and a solo homer. Starting RHP Kyle Lloyd (2-2, 4.95 ERA) allowed four runs on nine hits and a walk with five strikeouts. LHP Kyle McGrath (1.74) allowed two hits and a walk with four strikeouts in two scoreless innings. RHP Adam Cimber (2.49) allowed a hit and a walk with two strikeouts in a scoreless inning. RHP Jason Jester (1.96) allowed a hit in a scoreless inning.
HIGH SINGLE-A LAKE ELSINORE (27-30) - High Desert 6, STORM 4 - CF Franchy Cordero (.279) was 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored. SS Javier Guerra (.194) hit his fifth homer in four at-bats. RF Franmil Reyes (.234) was 1-for-4 with a run scored and a RBI. Starting RHP Dinelson Lamet (2.35) allowed three runs on five hits and two walks with five strikeouts in six innings. LHP Trevor Seidenberger (1-2, 6.84 ERA) allowed a two runs on a hit and two walks with a strikeout in 1 1/3 innings. LHP Jose Torres (3.53) allowed a run on two hits and two strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings.
