Syndergaard to return, start Friday vs. Nats

NEW YORK -- Right-handed ace Noah Syndergaard will return from the disabled list to start for the Mets on Friday night against the Nationals, manager Mickey Callaway said Wednesday.
Syndergaard "feels great" after throwing a bullpen session on Wednesday, according to Callaway.
Syndergaard has been on the disabled list since May 26 with a strained ligament in his right index finger. He made a rehab appearance on Sunday with Class A Short-Season Brooklyn, allowing two hits and one run with seven strikeouts over five innings. Syndergaard owns a 3.06 ERA in 11 games this season for the Mets.
