ANAHEIM -- The Orioles are expected to activate designated hitter Mark Trumbo from the 10-day disabled list prior to Wednesday's series finale against the Angels.
Trumbo, who had the minimum stay on the DL with a right ribcage strain, has played in 103 games for the O's this season. He's hit .238 with 17 homers and 50 RBIs in his second year with the Orioles and first year of a three-year, $37.5 million contract.
The 31-year-old Trumbo had a career year for the Orioles in 2016, hitting .256 with 47 home runs -- the most in the Majors -- and 108 RBIs. His home run and RBI totals were both career highs.
The O's have some other decisions coming up, with Ryan Flaherty out on rehab until Aug. 15. He is out of Minor League options, so the team will have to add him before then. They also have to add Rule 5 pick Anthony Santander, currently on the 60-day DL, to the active roster by that date.
