PAC-MAN-themed food headed to The Big A this season
ANAHEIM -- Last season, the Angels and Bandai Namco teamed up to bring an arcade experience to the ballpark. This year, the collaboration takes a step further, with the addition of the PAC-MAN Chomp Stop, which will have sweet treats available for fans.
The Chomp Stop will feature traditional ballpark desserts, but will also have special PAC-MAN-themed treats such as PAC-MAN-shaped sugar cookies and Rice Krispies Treats. For fans craving a pineapple Dole soft serve, the Chomp Stop will be the place to be, as it is the only location in Angel Stadium that will offer them.
Located right next to the “Level Up” arcade at section 240, the Chomp Stop’s food and drink items will also be sold in PAC-MAN-themed vessels.
“We have the original design collab with PAC-MAN from the original phase,” said Bandai Namco senior content strategy manager Chika Akashi. “However, we haven't really used that art on some stuff. So we've created the vessels, a lot of vessels like ice cream helmets, and also the cup as well.”
The pineapple Dole soft serve will come in a yellow PAC-MAN helmet, and drinks, including their regular and strawberry lemonade, will come in a PAC-MAN cup.
As for the arcade, things will remain the same. World’s Largest PAC-MAN, PAC-MAN Battle Royale Chompionship and PAC-MAN’s Pixel Bash are free for fans to play, and the Gashapon vending machines will have tokens available for purchase. Inside the Gashapon vending machines, fans can collect miniatures of their favorite characters in anime and video games.
