Padres 2019 draftees part of combined no-no
A pair of 2019 Draft picks helped the short season Class A Tri-City Dust Devils, a Padres affiliate, no-hit the Everett AquaSox (Mariners) in a 5-0 win on Saturday night at Gesa Stadium in Pasco, Wash.
Tri-City used four pitchers to get the job done. Jason Blanchard, a recent ninth-round pick out of Lamar, got the start and went two innings. Deacon Medders, selected in the 20th round out of Alabama, worked around three walks to close out the no-no over the final two frames.

In between, Ramon Perez (four innings) and Dominic DiSabatino (one) bridged the gap for the Dust Devils, who improved to 8-8 in an abbreviated season that began on June 14. The four pitchers combined to walk six and strike out eight while throwing 120 pitches.
It was the third no-hitter in Tri-City team history and first since July 20, 2013, when the club was a Rockies affiliate (Tri-City switched to the Padres in ‘15).
