Pipeline Preview: Tatis looks to stay hot for Fort Wayne

Here's a look at top prospects to watch in today's Minor League action:
Hitter to watch:Fernando Tatis Jr. (Padres' No. 4), Fort Wayne at South Bend (7:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Tatis, MLB Pipeline's No. 58 overall prospect, went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored on Sunday, one day after he connected on his 21st home run to establish a new Class A Fort Wayne franchise record. The 18-year-old shortstop has been remarkable in his full-season debut, slashing .275/.381/.512 with 49 extra-base hits, 73 runs scored and 28 stolen bases in 112 games.

Pitcher to watch: Taylor Clarke (D-backs' No. 3), Reno at Tacoma (10:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
After his forgettable debut with Reno, Clarke bounced back to toss seven strong innings, allowing two earned runs on six hits with six strikeouts, en route to his first Triple-A win. The 24-year-old right-hander was promoted to the Pacific Coast League after an All-Star campaign with Double-A Jackson during which he went 10-8 with a 3.36 ERA and 116 strikeouts in 123 1/3 innings (23 starts).

Duel of the day: Felix Jorge (Twins' No. 7) vs. Spencer Adams (White Sox No. 16), Chattanooga at Birmingham (8:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Jorge, 23, struggled in his two starts with Minnesota in early July and then continued to scuffle after returning to Double-A Chattanooga. The right-hander has fared better lately, though, as he enters Monday's start having posted a 1.11 ERA with a .212/.236/.247 opponents' slash line in his past three starts for the Lookouts. Overall, Jorge is 9-3 with a 3.44 ERA in 123 innings totaling 20 starts.

Adams will be looking to record his first win since July 6 when he takes the mound for Birmingham. He's 0-5 with a 4.89 ERA across his last six turns, during which he's pitched to a 4.89 ERA with 17 extra-base hits (seven home runs) and 15 walks allowed in 35 innings. The 21-year-old righty has been solid overall, though, posting a 4.09 ERA with strong ground-ball tendencies and an improved strikeout rate.
