Everything you need to know about Philly's 2026 Spring Training

PHILADELPHIA -- It’s never too early to start thinking about a trip to Clearwater, Fla., for Spring Training.

Major League Baseball on Wednesday announced the 2026 Spring Training schedules for the Grapefruit and Cactus Leagues. The Phillies will play 15 Grapefruit League games at BayCare Ballpark and 14 games on the road, plus two Spring Breakout games and one exhibition against Team Canada in preparation for next spring’s World Baseball Classic.

The Phillies have not announced dates for the first pitchers and catchers workout or first full-squad workout.

Never been to Clearwater for Spring Training? We offered tips to Phillies fans in January.

A few highlights of the Phillies’ 2026 spring schedule:

• They play their Grapefruit League opener on Feb. 21 against the AL champion Blue Jays in nearby Dunedin, Fla.

• They play their home opener at BayCare Ballpark on Feb. 22 against the Pirates.

• The Phillies hit the road following the home opener for a rare trip to Florida’s East Coast to play the Nationals and Marlins on Feb. 23 and 24, respectively.

• Team Canada plays an exhibition against the Phillies at BayCare on March 4. A return for former Phillies reliever Jordan Romano?

• Philadelphia will have another overnight trip in Fort Myers on March 8-9, where the club will play the Twins and Red Sox, respectively.

• Phillies fans know the best day of the spring is St. Patrick’s Day on March 17. The Phils will host the Twins in what almost certainly will be a sold-out BayCare Ballpark. It’s a fun afternoon. If you think you might be going to Clearwater for St. Paddy’s Day, don’t wait to get tickets.

• The Phillies will play two Spring Breakout games this spring. The top Phils prospects will play the top Twins prospects in Fort Myers on March 19. The Phillies will host the top Blue Jays prospects on March 21 at BayCare Ballpark. Top Phillies prospects to play last spring included first-round picks Justin Crawford, Aidan Miller and Dante Nori, plus future Phillies utility player Otto Kemp.

• The Phils play their final Grapefruit League game at home on March 23 against the Rays.

• Opening Day is March 26 against the Rangers at Citizens Bank Park.
