Pirates Announce 2022 Regular Season Schedule

The Pittsburgh Pirates today released the 2022 regular season schedule which features 16 interleague games vs the American League East. The Club will open the season at PNC Park against the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday, March 31, marking the first time since 2016 the Pirates will begin the regular season at home.

Following the season-opening series against the Cardinals, the Pirates will travel to Cincinnati (April 4-6) and St. Louis (April 7-11) before returning to PNC Park for a six-game homestand against the Cubs (April 12-13) and Nationals (April 14-17). The Pirates are scheduled to play 22 of their 28 games in April against N.L. Central division opponents. The Bucs close out the month of April at home with a three-game series against the San Diego Padres.

The Pirates’ 2022 interleague home schedule will feature visits by the Detroit Tigers (June 7-8), New York Yankees (July 5-6), Boston Red Sox (August 16-18) and Toronto Blue Jays (September 2-4). The Bucs will also travel to Detroit (May 3-4), Tampa Bay (June 24-26), Baltimore (August 5-7) and New York (September 20-21) for interleague play.
