ATLANTA -- Preston Tucker continues to do everything he can to show the Braves he belongs as their everyday left fielder, and he made a case in his first at-bat Wednesday with a two-out, three-run home run off Nationals ace Max Scherzer in the bottom of the first inning of Atlanta's 7-1 win in the series finale at SunTrust Park.
After Freddie Freeman's two-out double to left, Nick Markakis reached on Nationals second baseman Wilmer Difo's fielding error, setting the stage for Tucker's second homer in the first inning in as many days.
All three runs off Scherzer were unearned, but the first inning has been the time to strike off the righty, who allowed 12 runs and six homers in the opening frame last season.
