MILWAUKEE -- The Brewers began Spring Training with an open competition for center field and ended it that way, too.
"I think we'll go into the season without a complete answer to the question," manager Craig Counsell said. "We're probably going to play multiple people at the position, and at times, we could see any of them in center field. They all bring something a little different to the table, and you're kind of looking for one guy to jump up and claim the playing time.

Ryan Braun is set in left field and Domingo Santana in right, but as the Brewers played their final exhibition game on Saturday in Biloxi, Miss., center field remained uncertain. Ramon Flores had already made the team, and Keon Broxton and Kirk Nieuwenhuis were awaiting word on the final two spots. All saw action in center field during the spring.
That battle was among a number of topics addressed by Counsell during a one-on-one interview with MLB.com during the final week of camp. For more, including Counsell's favorite memory of Opening Day, watch the video above.
"I think we're building a foundation here, and it's important we get the foundation right," he said. "We're going to have players who surprise us this year, players who disappoint us this year. But it's important that we find players who are parts of this thing moving forward."
