FORT MYERS, Fla -- A furry, four-legged friend was trying to catch the action on the field between the Braves and Twins Friday night at Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers, all while avoiding being caught in the stands.

A few shrieks and screams could be heard amongst stadium goers as a small raccoon traversed its way through legs, rows and surely snacks during the top of the second inning.

Staff at the stadium worked to catch the small creature, but it took some time as it made its way from the third-base side, all the way to the first-base side, before being corralled by a gloved employee next to the Twins’ dugout back the other way.

Twins manager Derek Shelton said he didn’t notice the crowd’s reaction until a fan in the seats next to the dugout said something.

"A little girl was like, ‘There’s a raccoon,’” Shelton said. “I was like, 'It’s fine.’ She was like, ‘Aren’t you scared?’ I’m like, ‘Not unless it jumps over this fence.’ Then it came back and I was standing right there when the guy grabbed it.”

The animal was safely put into a cage before being taken away.
