Rain delays start of Bucs-Reds doubleheader

CINCINNATI -- The Pirates and Reds began a planned full day of baseball with a rain delay.
The start of the first half of the clubs' day-night doubleheader on Saturday was pushed back shortly before Game 1 was set to begin. First pitch had been scheduled for 12:10 p.m. ET at Great American Ball Park, with Pittsburgh rookie Jameson Taillon facing Cincinnati right-hander Anthony DeSclafani. The first game finally began after a 1 hour, 2 minute delay.
In announcing the delay, the Reds said they anticipated completing both games of the twin bill despite rain being in the forecast all day. The second game is slated to start at 6:10 p.m. ET, with the Bucs starting rookie Trevor Williams opposite Reds lefty Brandon Finnegan.
