DENVER -- Ross Stripling will start the day game Wednesday and Rich Hill gets the ball for the night game for the Dodgers in a day-night doubleheader necessitated by Tuesday night's rainout at Coors Field. Hill had been scheduled to pitch Tuesday
The games begin at 12:10 p.m. and 5:10 p.m. PT.
Rain started to fall minutes before the expected 5:40 p.m. PT start to the game, and the players were called off the field. The game was postponed 2 1/2 hours later.
Manager Dave Roberts said the club had not decided which Minor Leaguer would be recalled as the allotted 26th man for the second game only.
The 26th man does not necessarily have to be a pitcher, although Roberts said it would be. Among the 40-man roster candidates currently at Triple-A are relievers Luis Avilán and Josh Fields and starter Brock Stewart (who pitched five innings for the Dodgers on Sunday). Reliever Pedro Báez, optioned Tuesday to Double-A, also is eligible.
