Team to watch
Double-A Frisco offers the best concentration of pitchers in the system. Right-hander Winston Santos starred in 2024 before a stress reaction in his back hampered him last season. Righty David Davalillo led the Minors with a 1.88 ERA two years ago and was the Rangers' Minor League pitcher of the year in 2025. Righty Leandro Lopez and left-hander Josh Trentadue are coming off breakthrough seasons, and Lopez struck out 10 of the 20 hitters he faced in Cactus League play this spring. Outfielder Dylan Dreiling, the 2024 College World Series' most outstanding player, will power the RoughRiders' lineup.

Players we could see in MLB in 2026
Right-hander Carter Baumler was the lone rookie to crack the Opening Day roster, and the Rangers might not get much out of their prospects in the big leagues this season. Righty Jose Corniell appeared in Texas' final game of 2025 and could get back up at some point this season. Some of those Double-A arms could climb to Arlington by September. Shortstop Cameron Cauley and righties Emiliano Teodo and Gavin Collyer could play complementary roles.

New faces
Many of the Rangers' best prospects from the 2025 Draft will make their pro debuts this season, including right-handers AJ Russell (second round) and Mason McConnaughey (fourth), left-hander Ben Abeldt (fifth), third baseman Jack Wheeler (sixth) and righty Jacob Johnson (11th). Russell is beginning the season at Single-A Hickory, while the others are in extended spring training for now. Slugging outfielder Elian Rosario will head to the Rookie-level Dominican Summer League in June after signing for $2.5 million in January. After the Pirates selected Baumler from the Orioles in the Rule 5 Draft in December, Texas immediately acquired him for righty pitching prospect Jaiker Garcia and cash.

On the shelf
No. 6 on the Top 100 Prospects list, shortstop Sebastian Walcott had internal brace surgery in February that will cost him the first half of the season and limit him to DH duty when he returns. Right-hander Caden Scarborough, Texas' other Top 100 prospect, is building up innings in extended spring training after a melanoma scare in Spring Training and likely will report to High-A Hub City at the start of May. Right-hander Izack Tiger is completing his comeback from internal brace surgery in September 2024 and will join Hub City at some point. Abeldt (February 2025) and McConnaughey (March 2025) are working their way back from Tommy John surgery that ended their final college seasons.
