Ross upbeat after sim session; Leclerc to DL

SAN DIEGO -- Tyson Ross' homecoming came about three hours before the first pitch. Ross, a former Padre, pitched a simulated game as he continue his rehabilitation from a thoracic outlet syndrome shoulder and back spasms.
Ross threw 30 pitches over two innings to Nomar Mazara, Rougned Odor and Ryan Rua. Ross, who was limited to one start last year with the Padres, was upbeat afterward.
"Today was definitely encouraging as far as how I felt physically and how I was able to move the baseball around,'' he said. "It's another good step for me."
The Rangers have not announced where and when the next step will be.
Leclerc to disabled list
The Rangers put right-hander José Leclerc on the 10-day disabled list with a sprained right index finger.
"On a pain scale, there isn't that much, but he just feels weak in that index finger and he can't get the ball where he wants to,'' manager Jeff Banister said. "I just made a decision that I'm not going to push it.
Leclerc struggled on Sunday in Seattle, when he walked three while recording just two outs.
The club recalled lefty Dario Álvarez from Triple-A Round Rock, although Alvarez was already with the team in San Diego
Rangers' Morgan is honored
Chuck Morgan, the Rangers' longtime public-address announcer, has been selected into the Information Display and Entertainment Association (IDEA) Hall of Fame. The induction is July 12 in Philadelphia.

Morgan has been at the PA at every Rangers home game since 1983, with the exception of a one-year stint with the Kansas City Royals in 2002.
In addition to his PA duties, Morgan is the Rangers' executive vice president of ballpark entertainment and productions.
