Rays activate Franklin, option Sturdevant

HOUSTON -- Following Friday night's 5-4 loss to the Astros, the Rays activated infielder/outfielder Nick Franklin from the 7-day concussion disabled list and optioned right-hander Tyler Sturdevant to Triple-A Durham.
Franklin went 3-for-4 while playing for Class-A Advanced Charlotte in Bradenton, Fla., on Friday night. He is hitting .292 with four home runs and 23 RBIs for the Rays this season.
Sturdevant was recalled prior to Thursday's game and struck out both batters he faced in the ninth inning of the Rays' 2-1 win over the Red Sox. He is 0-1 with a 3.93 ERA in 16 games this season.
