ST. PETERSBURG -- Kevin Kiermaier left Friday night's 6-5 loss to the Marlins game due to right foot discomfort.
Kiermaier will be re-evaluated on Saturday, making his status day to day.
Kiermaier has battled soreness since April 8 when he fouled a ball off his foot in Boston. Since then he's had "good days and bad days."
"Today was the worst day I've had and I just felt like I wouldn't give the team any justice by me possibly pushing this and making it worse than it is." Kiermaier said. "For me it's frustrating, because I haven't been able to get rid of this. It's a severe bone bruise, and they told me I might not be the same all year. Going on the 60-day DL, I thought I would get over it."
Kiermaier hit a hustle double to lead off the Rays' first and appeared to get up slowly, but he ended up scoring on Adeiny Hechavarría's RBI single. He left the game after the fourth inning.
Kiermaier's stint on the 60-day disabled list came after tearing a ligament in his right hand.
