Rays to open upper deck Saturday as Flappy Boi, first-place club pack the Trop

ST. PETERSBURG -- The American League-leading Rays are opening parts of the upper deck for Saturday night’s game against the Orioles at Tropicana Field.

The team on the field has provided plenty of reasons to pack the Trop this weekend, as Tampa Bay owns the best home record in baseball (41-18), a comfortable lead in the AL East and will be returning home after an incredible three-series trip out West.

But there’s a lot more happening on Saturday, leading to high demand and limited seating remaining in the lower levels. Thus, the Rays are making upper-deck seats available for purchase in sections 300-312 on both the first- and third-base sides for Saturday’s game.

For starters, a “Flappy Boi” T-shirt giveaway will take place Saturday. The first 10,000 fans in the ballpark will receive the T-shirt, a voucher that can be redeemed for a complimentary ticket to any of the games during the Rays’ series against the Athletics from Sept. 15-17 and an opportunity to pick up the delayed Flappy Boi bobblehead.

Saturday’s festivities also include a postgame concert by country music singer Jordan Davis. Fans who do not purchase a field access wristband can stick around and watch the show from their seats, but an official wristband -- which must be purchased with a valid game ticket -- is required for field access during the concert.

The Rays opened the upper deck for “Longo’s Legacy Weekend” last month, the first time that level had been open since the AL Wild Card Series against the Rangers in 2023.
