The Red Sox and A’s swung a small deal on Tuesday.
The Red Sox acquired infielder Brett Harris from the A’s in exchange for right-handed pitcher Ben Hansen, a source told MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand. Neither team has confirmed the deal.
The 28-year-old Harris was designated for assignment by the A’s last Saturday. Selected by the A’s in the seventh round out of Gonzaga in the 2021 Draft, Harris debuted with the club in 2024 and spent parts of the last three seasons with them. He owns a career .194/.307/.289 slash line with three home runs in 73 games.
Hansen was selected by the Red Sox out of BYU in the 20th round of the 2024 Draft. In two seasons in the Minors with Boston, Hansen has a 5.63 ERA with 99 strikeouts in 102 1/3 innings.
