Pedroia, Bogaerts, Hanigan exit game early

BOSTON -- The Red Sox lost both members of their double-play combination during Wednesday night's 10-3 win over the Rockies. But manager John Farrell is confident second baseman Dustin Pedroia (right hamstring tightness) and shortstop Xander Bogaerts (sore right thumb) will both be back for Thursday's series finale.
Pedroia left as a precaution after belting a double off the Green Monster in the fifth. He first felt something in the hamstring after grounding out in the third, and the trainers helped him stretch it out.
But Farrell pulled the plug on his night after seeing Pedroia moving at less than full speed on his double.
"I hit the ball down in the corner, so I jogged to second, and I was out [of the game]," said Pedroia. "I don't know. I'm fine. I appreciate John and everybody looking out. We obviously don't want anything to happen like last year. But I'm good."
In 2015, a right hamstring injury limited Pedroia to 93 games.
"No, I'm fine," said Pedroia. "I got stretched during the game for the first time in 10 years. Don't worry about me."
Marco Hernandez came on to pinch-run and replaced Pedroia at second base and added two hits.
Bogaerts, who extended his hitting streak to 18 games with a towering home run, had his thumbnail bent back after tagging out Carlos Gonzalez in the eighth inning.
"On the tag, his right thumbnail bent back about half the way so he's probably a little sore, but still first read is that he'll be available again tomorrow," said Farrell.

Catcher Ryan Hanigan was yet a third Boston player to leave the game early, exiting with an illness in the bottom of the fourth.
