Reds Spring Training is nearly here! What you should know

CINCINNATI – Following a playoff appearance and a busy offseason of retooling, the Reds are just about ready to open Spring Training for the 2026 season.

It's going to be a season where Cincinnati works to build on its 83-79 record in 2025, which was enough to clinch the final National League Wild Card spot on the last day of the regular season.

When is the first workout for pitchers and catchers?
Pitchers and catchers report on Monday and have physicals on Tuesday. The first workout is on Wednesday.

What is the date of the first full-squad workout?
Position players report on Feb. 14 and undergo their physicals the next day. The first full-squad workout is on Feb. 16.

Where is the team’s facility?
The Reds’ player development complex is located at 3125 S. Wood Blvd., Goodyear, Ariz. It's about two miles from Interstate 10 and one mile from Goodyear Ballpark, where Cactus League games are held. There is free street parking for those who want to visit the complex.

Can fans attend workouts?
Yes. It's free to watch workouts from designated vantage points. Times for the workouts vary, depending on the schedule, but will usually be held in the morning.

Who are some new faces fans should know?
The biggest new face is actually a familiar one in Eugenio Suárez, who signed Tuesday to a one-year, $15 million contract with a $16 million mutual option for 2027. Suárez, who tied his career high with 49 home runs last season for the D-backs and Mariners, played for the Reds from 2015-21.

Other new free agent acquisitions include outfielder JJ Bleday and relievers Pierce Johnson and Caleb Ferguson. Another reliever, Brock Burke, was acquired from the Angels in a three-way trade. Outfielder Dane Myers came to the Reds in a trade with the Marlins.

Who are some of the top prospects invited to Major League camp?
Outfielder Héctor Rodríguez (Reds’ No. 9 prospect) was added to the 40-man roster in November and will be at big league camp for the first time. Among the non-roster invitees is first baseman and No. 6 prospect Cam Collier.

When is the team’s first Cactus League game?
The first exhibition game is scheduled vs. the Guardians on Feb. 21. Cleveland will be the home team at their shared ballpark with the Reds.

What are a few other notable spring games?
On March 4, there is an exhibition game vs. Cuba's World Baseball Classic squad. The World Series champion Dodgers visit Goodyear to play the Reds on March 5. A division rival, the Brewers, will be in Goodyear on March 11. Among the road games is a March 20 meeting with the Cubs in Mesa.

What is Spring Breakout and when is the game?
Returning for a third year, Spring Breakout is a four-day event across spring stadiums in Arizona and Florida aiming to showcase each organization's prospects from Minor League Baseball. Reds prospects will play against Giants prospects in Scottsdale on March 19.

Will the team’s games be televised?
That is TBA. The Reds’ 2026 television production and distribution is being done by MLB, it was announced on Monday.

When is the club’s last game in Arizona?
The Reds break camp after a March 22 game vs. Cleveland at 3:05 p.m. ET.

Will there be any additional exhibitions before the regular season?
Yes, two. The Reds will travel to Milwaukee for a two-game exhibition series vs. the Brewers at American Family Field on March 23-24.

What are the details for Opening Day?
Per usual tradition, the Reds will open the regular season at home. This year's opponent is the Red Sox. First pitch is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. ET on Thursday, March 26, at Great American Ball Park.
