River Riders drop season finale, 4-2, against Otterbots

ELIZABETHTON, TN --- The River Riders dropped the season finale, 4-2, against the Danville Otterbots in Elizabethton at Northeast Community Credit Union Ballpark. Elizabethton finished 26-22 on the season, good for second in the West Division.

The River Riders jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second when designated hitter Chancery Hall walked, scoring first baseman Augustus Fraley.

In the top of the fourth, Danville tied the game 1-1.

In the top of the sixth, Danville took the lead scoring an unearned run against River Rider starter Alex Brewer.

In the top of the seventh, Daville scored two to grow their lead to 3-1.

In the bottom of the seventh E-Town responded with right fielder Dalton McClain’s RBI single, scoring third baseman Jonathan Soto.

In the top of the ninth Danville scored their fourth and final run.

The River Riders finished with a 26-22 record in their inaugural season in the Appalachian League, good for fourth-best in the league overall.
