Arenado, CarGo and Co. set for Rockies Fest

DENVER -- Standout third baseman Nolan Arenado, star outfielder Carlos Gonzalez and All-Star second baseman DJ LeMahieu are among the players set to meet fans at Coors Field on Jan. 23.
Season-ticket holders will have free all-day access to Rockies Fest starting at 8:30 a.m. MT, and the event becomes open to the public at 12:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now -- $20 for fans 13 and over, and $1 for children under 13. Season-ticket holders may also reserve admission tickets for free.
Proceeds from tickets will benefit the Colorado Rockies Foundation, which benefits community programs throughout the Rocky Mountain region to support underprivileged and at-risk youth through programs for youth baseball, education and health.
Arenado, who tied the Nationals' Bryce Harper for the National League lead in home runs with 42 and won a Silver Slugger Award, a Gold Glove Award, The Fielding Bible Award and a Wilson Defensive Player of the Year Award, will be a featured attraction. Gonzalez, a two-time All-Star, hit 40 homers and LeMahieu appeared in his first All-Star Game.

Most of the Rockies -- not only established Major Leaguers but players from the entire 40-man roster -- will be available to meet fans and participate in various activities. Planned events include autograph sessions, question-and-answer sessions, "Rockies Family Feud," behind-the-scenes access to the Rockies' clubhouse and batting tunnels, and pitching and hitting clinics. There also will be areas dedicated to children of all ages.
Also on hand will be manager Walt Weiss and the coaching staff. Rockies alumni scheduled to appear are Weiss, first-base coach Eric Young and bullpen coach Darren Holmes from the field staff, as well as Rick Mathews, who has served in various coaching and scouting roles at the Major and Minor League levels, and former relief pitcher Steve Reed.
Rockies Radio Network broadcasters Jack Corrigan and Jerry Schemmel, and Root Sports Rocky Mountain broadcasters Jeff Huson, Ryan Spilborghs and Cory Sullivan also are scheduled to attend.
Additionally:
• Returning in 2016 will be the Rock Social Studio, where Rockies players will engage on social media sites to answer questions from fans and connect live to fans via Skype and FaceTime.
• Fans can purchase authentic Rockies game-used items as well as retired ballpark fixtures and other rare pieces at the Rockies Merchandise and Garage Sale. Additionally, fans will be able to visit a popup museum featuring artifacts representing 23 seasons of Rockies baseball.
• Parking for Rockies Fest will be available in Lot A (entrance at 22nd/Park Avenue at Wazee) for $5 per vehicle. Fans may enter through gates A, C or D. For more information, visit rockies.com/rockiesfest.
This is the seventh year of the event, which began in 2009. The event was not conducted in '13 because of construction at the ballpark.
