Team to watch
There are fun options at either end of the system. Checking out top prospect Ethan Holliday and fast-rising Roldy Brito in Fresno is a fine choice, but if you want to see the next (short-term) wave of Rockies, head to Albuquerque. Charlie Condon is already putting up numbers, and No. 6 Cole Carigg is off to a fine start. It should also be interesting to see how the three arms in the top 16 there (seven Top 30 guys total) -- Sean Sullivan, Welinton Herrera and Gabriel Hughes -- handle the hitting-friendly confines to prepare them for Coors Field.

Players we could see in MLB in 2026
Any of the above, though most eyes will be on Condon. The No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 Draft, Condon’s productivity was sapped first by a hand injury after signing and then a broken wrist suffered in Spring Training. He swung the bat well in the Arizona Fall League last year, but without any thump. Well, that seems to be back now. The longer he looks like the Condon who was the 2024 Golden Spikes Award winner, the louder that clock will be ticking to get him to the big leagues.

New faces
While the hitters from the 2025 Draft class – Holliday, along with Max Belyeu and Ethan Hedges – got their professional feet wet last summer, the arms did not. So this is the first time we’ll get to see JB Middleton and Riley Kelly in action. The Rockies signed shortstop Richard De Los Santos for $1 million when the 2026 international signing period opened in January and they’ll get their first official look at him later on in the Dominican Summer League.

On the shelf
Jared Thomas is still on his way back from hamate surgery he had during the offseason, an issue that clearly impacted him during his 2025 campaign. Zac Veen suffered a knee contusion sliding to make a catch in early March and he’s already working his way back to Colorado, playing in rehab games with Albuquerque. McCade Brown was dealing with a shoulder issue all spring and wasn’t ready to answer the bell. Kelly was slowed by knee inflammation this spring, so he was held back, but should be ready to go in a couple of weeks. RJ Petit could have made the New faces section as a Rule 5 Draft pick, but needed Tommy John surgery, so he’s out for the year.
