DENVER -- The Braves are flying high in the National League East with a 7 1/2-game lead entering Sunday, but they'll have to go it for a while without superstar outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr., who was placed on the 10-day injured list with a strained left hamstring.
In addition, right-hander Spencer Strider -- who has been rehabbing a left oblique strain -- was reinstated from the injured list and will make his 2026 debut in Sunday's finale against Colorado. Outfielder José Azocar was also added to the Major League roster.
Acuña departed Saturday's 9-1 win over the Rockies in the second inning after appearing to injure himself running out a grounder. The Braves’ trainer made a quick trip to the infield dirt beside first with manager Walt Weiss to check on Acuña, and the right fielder walked off the field with them and left the game. He was replaced by Eli White in right field in the third.
Acuña hit a leadoff single in the first frame, extending his on-base streak to 23 games, and scored the game’s first run on Drake Baldwin’s two-run homer to left.
Acuña has slashed .252/.362/.378 with two homers and seven steals in 34 games this season.
