The Braves have agreed to a Minor League deal with veteran first baseman Rowdy Tellez, according to a report by MLB Network insider Jon Heyman on Friday. The team has not confirmed the move.
Tellez, 31, split the 2025 season between the Mariners and Rangers, slashing .228/.276/.443 with 17 homers and 49 RBIs in 112 games. He struggled with Seattle, but Tellez finished strong after signing a free-agent deal with Texas in July following his release from the Mariners.
In 50 games and 127 plate appearances with the Rangers, Tellez hit six homers and had a 124 OPS+. Tellez also played for Mexico in the 2026 World Baseball Classic, hitting .280 with a homer and five RBIs in 25 plate appearances.
In parts of eight seasons with the Blue Jays, Brewers, Tigers, Rangers and Mariners, Tellez has hit .234 with 122 homers and a .737 OPS.
