The Rangers are finalizing a Minor League deal with veteran free-agent reliever Ryan Brasier, sources told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand on Friday.

The team hasn't confirmed the deal.

Brasier spent the 2025 season with the Cubs and pitched in 28 games, with a 4.50 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 26 innings. He had two stints on the injured list due to a left groin strain.

The 38-year-old right-hander is a Texas native who grew up in Wichita Falls, about two hours outside Arlington, and went to Weatherford College, about an hour from the Rangers' Globe Life Field.

Brasier has pitched nine seasons in the big leagues for the Angels, Red Sox, Dodgers and Cubs, winning a World Series with Boston in 2018 and Los Angeles in '24. He has a 3.90 career ERA in 325 appearances.
