Phils' new GM once made catch for the ages

Sam Fuld was hired as the new GM for the Phillies on Tuesday. The former outfielder played for four different teams during his eight-year career, and he even got a couple of big hits for the A's in the 2014 Wild Card Game.

But his defense is where he was really valued: He owned the Baseball Tonight highlight reels, he led the league in double plays turned from left field in 2015 and his Rays' teammate David Price had the quote of all quotes to describe the man known as "Super Sam."

"I heard that the world is covered by 75 percent water, and the other 25 percent is covered by Sam Fuld."

And on April 9, 2011, he made one of the greatest catches you'll see. He robbed Juan Pierre of a potential inside-the-park grand slam with a sprawling dive onto the warning track in right field. Check it out in the main media slot above.

Fuld is still just 39 years old, and if the team needs a fourth outfielder when rosters expand in September, why not bring him on? He's also the GM, so, um, good luck telling him no.
