ARLINGTON -- Rangers outfielder Shin-Soo Choo is scheduled to undergo surgery on Wednesday to have a plate inserted into his left forearm near the wrist. Choo suffered a fractured forearm when he was hit by a pitch during Monday's game against the Athletics.
Choo is expected to miss the remainder of the season, although the Rangers have not set a timetable. Catcher Robinson Chirinos had a similar surgery in April and missed two months. The surgery will be performed by Dallas hand specialist Dr. Tom DiLiberti.
