Many ran out of words to describe Shohei Ohtani a long time ago, and yet, he’s still doing things that few others -- and occasionally no others -- have done in MLB history.
Ohtani hit his 300th career home run on Wednesday, becoming the first Japanese-born player to reach the hallowed accolade. And he continues to star at the plate while putting together an argument for the NL Cy Young Award on the mound.
Ohtani’s latest starring role is among the many things discussed in the latest episode of "This Week in Baseball," out now on MLB's X account, at MLB.com and on MLB.TV.

The show, hosted by Kait Maniscalco, continues the revival of the classic series that debuted in 1977 as a 30-minute show and ran for most of the next three-plus decades to give baseball fans a dose of highlights and fun stories.
The new short-form version continues in that spirit, showcasing the biggest plays and storylines from the week, along with bloopers, the iconic TWIB Notes and more.
Standout rookie Kevin McGonigle's return home for the All-Star Game, another trip to the Midsummer Classic for Juan Soto and a dive on hidden-ball tricks join Ohtani’s homer as topics for this week’s show. The latest “Road TWIB” also takes a look at the Mets’ Citi Field.
