The third annual Spring Breakout gets underway Thursday, and some of the game’s future stars are set to receive unique guidance from a few of the game’s former stars.

Four Hall of Fame inductees and plenty more well-known former big leaguers will serve as honorary coaches when the Spring Breakout runs from Thursday through Sunday.

Alan Trammel will lead the Tigers’ top prospects for the third straight year after winning in each of his first two chances. Jeff Bagwell will lead the Astros, Fred McGriff will oversee the Braves and Vladimir Guerrero will serve with the Angels.

Other big names hopping in the dugout include Dave Stewart and Mark McGwire (Athletics); Jason Varitek (Red Sox); Bartolo Colon (Angels); and Jason Isringhausen and Adam Wainwright (Cardinals).

Some will serve as managers and some as coaches, as they’ll have a front-row seat to some of the best prospects in baseball.

This year, we’re in line to see Nos. 1 and 10 on MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 Prospects list -- Pirates infielder Konnor Griffin and Tigers outfielder Max Clark -- go head-to-head, while we’re getting a matchup of top-10 overall farm systems between the Brewers (first) and Mariners (eighth). The Brewers will also be involved in a marquee player matchup, with infielder Jesús Made (No. 3) squaring off against Athletics infielder Leo De Vries (No. 4).

Here’s a preliminary list of honorary coaches joining clubs across the league for this spring’s exhibition games.
