ST. PETERSBURG -- The Brewers are one win away from the first World Series title in franchise history, and they cemented a 3-0 series lead with a dominant 10-1 victory on Monday night. Milwaukee put together an inning unlike any prior frame in Fall Classic history.
Now, the Brewers are on the cusp of becoming the first team to sweep both the LCS and World Series since the LCS changed to best-of-seven in 1975.
Here’s a look at 10 ways to sum up an impressive Brewers win.
The eight-run fifth inning
The Brewers didn’t just score eight runs in the fifth inning. They tallied each of those runs with two outs. That’s the most two-out runs in an inning in World Series history and the second most in any postseason inning. Only the Dodgers scored more with two outs in an inning, with 10 such runs in the first in Game 3 of the 2020 NLCS.
Overall, it was tied for the fourth-highest-scoring inning in World Series history. The eight runs were the most by a team in a World Series inning since the Blue Jays' nine-run sixth in Game 1 last year. The only other eight-plus-run World Series inning in the Divisional Era (1969) was by the Diamondbacks in Game 6 in 2001 (eight in the third).
The inning featured seven consecutive Brewers hits, from William Contreras through Jackson Chourio. The Brewers became the first team to notch seven consecutive hits in any postseason game, per STATS.

The young superstar
Chourio led the way with four hits, continuing a torrid start to the series. He is the 26th player with multiple hits in each of the first three games of a World Series. At 22 years old, he’s the youngest to do it. He’s up to eight hits so far in the series, the second most by anyone in the first three games of a World Series, behind Billy Hatcher’s nine in 1990.
Chourio’s postseason legend continues to grow. He had two hits in the fifth inning. There are 47 instances in postseason history of a player having two hits in an inning. Chourio is the only player to do it twice (2025 NLDS G1, 1st).
He became the first player in World Series history with two hits and a stolen base in an inning. The only others to do so in any postseason inning are Chuck Knoblauch (2000 ALDS G5, 1st) and Rickey Henderson (1990 ALCS G1, 9th).
At 22 years and 229 days, Chourio became the second-youngest player in World Series history with four hits and a stolen base in a game, behind Ty Cobb in 1908 Game 3 (21y, 299d). He was the youngest player with a four-hit World Series game since Joe Garagiola in 1946 Game 4 (20y, 240d).

Dominating their way
The Brewers have won eight consecutive games, tied for the longest streak in a single postseason, with the 2019 Nationals, 2014 Royals, 2005 White Sox and 2004 Red Sox. That means in addition to clinching their first title, a sweep in Game 4 would also set a record for the longest single postseason winning streak.
They out-hit the Rays, 16 to three. That’s the third-largest hit differential in a game in World Series history. The only larger hit margins were by the Diamondbacks in Game 6 in 2001 (+15) and the Brewers themselves in Game 1 in 1982 (+14).
The Brewers’ postseason motto is “win our way,” and they have indeed. They are the seventh team to win each of the first three games of a World Series while hitting just one home run, joining the 2007 Red Sox, 1950 Yankees, 1937 Yankees, 1927 Yankees, 1914 Braves and 1910 Athletics. If you’re wondering, the last team to win the World Series while hitting no more than one home run was the 1946 Cardinals.
