D-backs' Walker dazzles, Brewers' Anderson sharp

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Given the way Taijuan Walker and Chase Anderson pitched Friday, they probably would have liked it to be a regular-season game rather than a Spring Training one in which the D-backs held off the Brewers, 6-3, at Salt River Fields.
Walker continued his dominant spring with four hitless innings in his third start, and he has now allowed just three hits and one walk while striking out 13 in nine scoreless spring innings.
Anderson, meanwhile, had his best outing of the spring, giving up just one unearned run over three innings as he battles to secure a spot in Milwaukee's rotation.

Nick Ahmed, who is competing with Chris Owings and Ketel Marte to be the D-backs' starting shortstop, had a big day at the plate, driving home a pair of runs -- one on a double and the other on a triple.
Kirk Nieuwenhuis led the Brewers' offense with a home run off Brian Matusz in the fifth.
Oswaldo Arcía hit his second homer of the spring for the D-backs in the fourth.

Brewers Up Next:Ryan Braun is expected back in the starting lineup when the Brewers host the Padres on Saturday in the second meeting between the teams in the span of three days. Braun struck out and worked a walk in his spring debut on Friday. Matt Garza will start for Milwaukee in the 2:05 p.m. CT game, which will air on MLB.TV and FS Wisconsin, as well as Gameday Audio and the Brewers Radio Network.
