TWIB: Will any Met ever match Santana’s no-hit magic?

The Mets' 2026 season is their 65th in franchise history. Six hundred and eighty two players have taken the mound for New York. Yet on June 1, 2012, Johan Santana became the only one to throw a complete-game no-hitter for the organization.
On April 29, 2022, five Mets pitchers combined to quiet the Phillies. But 14 years later, Santana still stands alone.

The episode continues this season's revival of the classic series, which debuted in 1977 as a 30-minute show and ran through 1998. An initial revival followed from 2000-11 before a 15-year hiatus.
Originally hosted by Hall of Fame broadcaster Mel Allen with his signature "How about that?!" catchphrase, the original "TWIB" served as appointment viewing for millions of fans in the days before baseball highlights were readily available with just a few scrolls.
Airing each Friday at noon ET on MLB's X account, this new version is hosted by Kait Maniscalco and carries a similar vibe to the famous originals, but with a modern flourish. It was developed by the Emmy-winning MLB Studios and is produced in collaboration with the Emmy-winning MLB Network. But just like the original version, this short-form iteration of "TWIB" exists to give fans a fast-paced and fun way to follow the latest news and happenings from around the league.
