Tigers-White Sox game postponed by rain

CHICAGO -- Wednesday's game between the Tigers and White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field has been postponed due to rain. The Chicago weather forecast called for rain and high winds until late in the evening.
The game will be made up on Friday, May 26, as part of a straight doubleheader, beginning at 4:10 p.m. CT. The originally scheduled contest will begin at 7:10 p.m. CT, or 30 minutes following the conclusion of the opener, but no sooner than the scheduled start time.
Tickets for Wednesday's postponed game are now a gift certificate, and fans should exchange those game tickets and parking coupons for tickets of equal or lesser value to any future regular-season White Sox home game. All exchanges must be done at the Guaranteed Rate Field box office during regular business hours or by mail.
Fans with tickets for Wednesday's game cannot use those tickets for entry on May 26. Fans with tickets for the 7:10 p.m. game on May 26 may attend both games of the doubleheader.
Weather has wiped out two of the first three games of this season-opening series, although the teams were able to make up the opener on Tuesday, a 6-3 Detroit victory. The Tigers and White Sox are scheduled to conclude their abbreviated series on Thursday with a 1:10 p.m. CT first pitch.
Thursday's pitching matchup now features James Shields for the White Sox against left-hander Matthew Boyd for the Tigers. The White Sox will go with a starting alignment of Derek Holland, Miguel González and TBA against the Twins this weekend. Dylan Covey has been talked about as the team's fifth starter in Carlos Rodón's absence, but the White Sox could use José Quintana on regular rest Sunday in the series finale.
Detroit will go with Michael Fulmer on Friday, Jordan Zimmermann on Saturday, Daniel Norris on Sunday and Justin Verlander, who won on Opening Day, on Monday.
