X-rays negative on Shaw's hand after HBP

MILWAUKEE -- Brewers third baseman Travis Shaw left Saturday's 11-3 loss to the Braves with a right hand contusion, replaced in the fifth inning by pinch-hitter Jesús Aguilar. X-rays taken during the game did not show any broken bones.
"It's just a contusion," Brewers manager Craig Counsell said after the game. "We'll see how he's doing tomorrow. He was having trouble gripping the bat."
Shaw was struck in the right hand by a Jaime García pitch in the first. Trainers investigated, but Shaw stayed in the game. He struck out in his next at-bat and handled three grounders over the next four innings before departing in a key spot, with the bases loaded and two outs and his team trailing, 5-1. After a wild pitch scored a run, Aguilar flied out to end the threat.
Shaw has been one of Milwaukee's pleasant surprises thus far, slugging five home runs with 18 RBIs entering the game Saturday.
