No pitch is too high for Mancini to go deep

How far did Orioles slugger Trey Mancini go up the ladder to hit a home run off Yankees starter James Paxton in the third inning on Monday afternoon? Nobody in the Major Leagues had gone deep off a higher pitch this season.

Mancini's opposite-field shot came on a 96.6-mph fastball that was 4.17 feet off the ground when he connected. This surpassed the previous high-water mark for 2019, set by Didi Gregorius with a grand slam against the Rays on July 16. The pitch hit by Gregorius was 4.02 feet high.

Mancini's home run was his 28th of the season.
