CHICAGO -- Tristan Peters’ third walk-off moment of the year and his ninth home run gave the White Sox a 2-1 victory over the Mets on Sunday afternoon at Rate Field. Peters connected off Kodai Senga with one out in the ninth inning, as the South Siders claimed the series win to maintain their hold on the American League Central. It was the White Sox 11th walk-off win of the season.

Andrew Benintendi’s run-scoring double in the eighth gave the White Sox a brief 1-0 lead. Miguel Vargas singled with one out in the eighth off Daniel Duarte and came around on Benintendi’s line drive to the right-field corner. Those connections marked the third and fourth hits of the game for the White Sox.

Jared Young’s RBI single in the top of the ninth tied the contest against Grant Taylor.

The Mets had a chance to take the lead in the seventh, putting runners on first and second against Erick Fedde, the bulk hurler following opener Sean Newcomb on Sunday. Hagen Smith replaced Fedde and fell behind at 3-0 to Jared Young, but came back to strike him out.

Smith aced pinch-hitter Francisco Alvarez on four pitches and then got Marcus Semien to chase a pitch well out of the zone for his third strikeout of the frame, stranding the two runners.

It was the third inning when the White Sox had their best scoring chance against Nolan McLean, loading the bases with two outs. But Benintendi struck out on three pitches to end the threat.

Fedde threw four-plus scoreless innings, following two scoreless innings from Newcomb. McLean struck out six and yielded one Sam Antonacci single over his six innings.

Antonacci made history aside from the single when he was hit by a McLean pitch with two outs in the fifth. That was Antonacci’s 24th hit-by-pitch during the 2026 campaign, setting a single-season franchise record.
