Venezuela celebrates Classic title with epic parade

In the aftermath of the national team winning its first-ever World Baseball Classic title, a raucous celebration is still ongoing in Venezuela.

A video posted by journalist Robert Lobo on X on Wednesday night shows Venezuelans flooding the historic Avenida Bolívar in Caracas, the nation’s capital, with a caravan of motorcycles heading towards Plaza Venezuela. Other fans are seen parading a giant Venezuelan flag down the street amid festive music, celebratory honks and a blur of flashing lights.

The parade mirrors the outpouring of emotion that the Venezuelan players showed following their dramatic title-clinching victory over Team USA on Tuesday. Daniel Palencia teared up before he even threw the game’s final pitch to Roman Anthony, and Eugenio Suárez gave a tear-jerking postgame interview.

The scene in Venezuela’s Alfredo Sadel Plaza was equally stirring, with a crowd erupting in celebration following the game’s final out, which they watched on a big screen.

Venezuela’s victory was certainly an achievement worth celebrating: The national team had not finished higher than third place in the WBC prior to winning it all in 2026.
