Washington Nationals select the contract of Jack Sinclair
The Washington Nationals selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Jack Sinclair from Triple-A Rochester and designated right-handed pitcher Max Kranick for assignment on Friday. Nationals President of Baseball Operations Paul Toboni made the announcement.
Sinclair, 27, struck out 74 batters and allowed just four home runs in 60.1 innings pitched across 52 outings with Triple-A Rochester in 2026. He recorded a .222 opponents’ batting average while going 6-2 with one save and a 4.03 ERA for the Red Wings. The 74 strikeouts were tied for the most among Nationals Minor League relievers, while the 52 outings ranked second. He tossed more than 1.0 innings in 17 of the 52 appearances this season.
Sinclair joins the Nationals after pitching to a 0.87 ERA (1 ER/10.1 IP) with 16 strikeouts, four walks and a .147 opponents’ average (5-for-34) over his last eight appearances. He did not allow any of six inherited runners to score over this stretch. On the season, just three of 21 inherited runners came around to score.
A 16th-round pick in the 2021 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Central Florida, Sinclair is 25-18 with 20 saves and a 3.61 ERA in 240 career Minor League games. He has posted 9.8 strikeouts per 9.0 innings and a .222 opponents’ batting average in his career.
