Watch FREE on MLB.TV: Rays' no-hit bid ends

The Rays entered Sunday looking to complete a series sweep of the Tigers at Tropicana Field, but it looked like they could achieve much more than that. After starter Jeffrey Springs held Detroit hitless through six innings, Tampa Bay's bullpen took over looking to complete just the franchise's second no-hitter in the MLB.TV Free Game of the Day.

But the no-hit bid ended on Riley Greene's leadoff hit in the top of the seventh off Rays reliever Colin Poche.

After inking a four-year extension in January, Springs was almost literally unhittable in the lead-up to the regular season. Through 14 Spring Training innings, he allowed no runs, five hits, two walks and struck out exactly half of the 48 batters he faced.

The Rays' only no-hitter came against the Tigers in Matt Garza's complete-game gem on July 26, 2010.
