Team to watch
Shortstop Anthony Volpe, MLB Pipeline's 2021 Hitting Prospect of the Year, will continue his development at Double-A Somerset. He'll be joined by left-hander Ken Waldichuk, who finished fourth in the Minors in strikeouts (163 in 110 innings) last year, and right-hander Luis Medina, who has some of the best pure stuff in the Minors.

New faces
Our top-rated prospect in the 2021-22 international class, shortstop Roderick Arias will make his pro debut at age 17 this summer. Right-hander Justin Lange, acquired last month from the Padres for Luke Voit, will head to Low-A Tampa after some time in extended spring training.

On the shelf
Right-hander Yoendrys Gomez had elbow surgery last August and should return in the first half of the season, likely at Low-A Tampa. A 2021 second-round pick out of Stanford, righty Brendan Beck had Tommy John surgery two months after signing, so his pro debut will be on hold until 2023.
