Michael Kopech, the top pitching prospect in the White Sox system, took home the team's Minor League Pitcher of the Month award Thursday. Outfielder Micker Adolfo was named the Minor League Player of the Month.
Kopech ranks as the No. 2 right-handed pitching prospect on MLBPipeline.com and its No. 11 prospect overall. Known for a fastball that frequently reaches triple digits, Kopech overwhelmed Double-A hitters throughout the month, allowing three runs or fewer in all six May starts and striking out at least eight four different times.

Kopech currently sits at a 2.38 ERA and 75 strikeouts in 53 innings this season. Acquired by the White Sox in the Chris Sale deal, he is the second prospect acquired by trade last offseason to win this award. April's winner, right-hander Dane Dunning, came over in the Adam Eaton deal.
The 20-year-old Adolfo hit .333 (32-for-96) with 11 doubles and two homers in 24 games in May. The No. 21 prospect in the White Sox system also posted a 16-game hitting streak from April 27 to May 15.
