CHICAGO -- Yolmer Sánchez propelled the White Sox offense during Thursday's home opener against the Tigers at Guaranteed Rate Field with triples in the first and fifth innings.
The third baseman connected on the first pitch from Jordan Zimmermann in the first with Avisaíl García and Matt Davidson on base, driving the ball down the right-field line to plate two. In the fifth, Sanchez scored Davidson with another triple to right off of reliever Warwick Saupold to increase the White Sox lead to 6-3.
Sanchez knocked out eight triples in 2017 and now has seven RBIs this season.
