Frazier, Torres among Yanks' 23 spring invites

NEW YORK -- The Yankees will offer a taste of the big leagues to some of their best and brightest talent this spring, including top-ranked prospectsClint Frazier and Gleyber Torres, both of whom have been invited to take part in their first Major League Spring Training.
Also expected to be in uniform at George M. Steinbrenner Field when the full squad reports in February will be left-hander Justus Sheffield (No. 6 per MLB Pipeline's 2016 end-of-season rankings), right-hander James Kaprielian (No. 9), outfielder Dustin Fowler (No. 13) and right-hander Chance Adams (No. 14).

"I've never done one before, so this is going to be my first official invite to big league camp. I'm excited," Frazier said. "This is a big opportunity for me this year going forward, and I have a chance to accomplish a dream that I've been setting out for since I was 3 years old."
They'll be joined by right-hander J.P. Feyereisen, who joined the Yanks in last July's trade with the Indians for Andrew Miller, while left-hander Daniel Camarena, right-hander Brady Lail, left-hander Jordan Montgomery and infielder Tyler Wade will also have opportunities to impress.
In addition, the Yankees announced on Tuesday that they signed 11 players to Minor League contracts with invitations to Major League Spring Training, including several who spent last season in the organization.
Those signed include: infielders Ji-Man Choi, Pete Kozma, Donovan Solano and Rubén Tejada; catchers Wilkin Castillo, Kellin Deglan and Francisco Diaz; left-handers Jason Gurka, Joe Mantiply and Evan Rutckyj; and right-hander Nick Rumbelow.
Diaz, Kozma, Rumbelow, Rutckyj and Solano were in the Yanks' organization last year.
Catcher Jorge Saez, who was selected by the Yankees from the Blue Jays in the first round of the Triple-A phase of the 2016 Rule 5 Draft, also is invited, bringing the total number of non-roster invitees to 23 (11 pitchers, four catchers, six infielders and two outfielders).
