The Yankees recalled right-hander Luis Severino from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre before Monday's game against the Astros in Houston, the club announced.
A corresponding roster move was not announced by the Yanks, but bringing up Severino could be the move to fill the roster spot that opened up with the trading of closer Aroldis Chapman to the Cubs for a four-player package.
Severino is 0-6 with a 7.46 ERA in seven starts with the Yankees this year. He has not pitched in the Majors since May 13. Severino was 7-1 with a 3.25 ERA in 10 starts at Triple-A.
