A's to celebrate East Bay on 510 Day
The Oakland A’s will celebrate the unique culture of Oakland and the East Bay on 510 Day – Friday, May 10. The day will include a pregame festival on Championship Plaza; an Equipment Drive benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oakland; on field recognition of local “heroes;” postgame East Bay Hip-Hop Fireworks presented by Cal State East Bay; and more.
The A’s are offering two special 510 Day ticket promotions for the 6:37 p.m. game versus the Cleveland Indians. Fans can purchase a $5 View Level ticket with the option to add on $10 pre-paid parking or an Eastside Suite for $510.
There will be a pregame festival in Championship Plaza presented by 7UP featuring East Bay food trucks, artists, and performers. Fans at the game will also receive an East Bay-themed cheer card courtesy of NBC Sports California. Throughout the game, players’ walk-up songs will be changed to feature music by East Bay artists like Mac Dre, SWMRS, Fantastic Negrito, and more.
The A’s are teaming up with the Baseball Tomorrow Fund and Pitch In For Baseball and Softball to host an equipment drive at the Coliseum on 510 Day. Fans who bring in new or gently used baseball and softball equipment to C Gate, D Gate, or the BART Plaza Entrance will receive two free tickets to a future A’s regular season home game. All equipment from the Equipment Drive will be donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oakland.
In addition to highlighting the authentic and unique culture of the East Bay, the A’s will celebrate those making a difference in our community. Local nonprofits can register to receive complimentary tickets to the game, on behalf of the Oakland A’s Community Fund. Fans can also nominate a local “hero” – whether it’s a kid who picks up trash in his or her neighborhood, or a local first responder – to be recognized in a pregame ceremony on the field. The deadline to nominate a local hero is Friday, April 26.
Following the game, fans are invited onto the outfield grass to enjoy Hip-Hop Fireworks, presented by Cal State East Bay, featuring an integrated musical presentation by Bay Area DJ/VJ Mike Relm, who is known for live performances that feature a series of audio mashups paired with video images.
A’s Cast, the TuneIn station with 24/7 coverage of the team, will go live at 4 p.m. with an East Bay-themed show, featuring live Oakland guests and discussions about the significance of the East Bay.
510 is the longstanding area code that covers most of the East Bay, including Alameda County and Contra Costa County. Fans can purchase tickets, nominate a local hero, and find more information about 510 Day at athletics.com/510day.
