A's to debut Stomping Ground at Coliseum for kids and families
The Oakland A’s today announced the addition of the A’s Stomping Ground, a new area for kids and families at the Oakland Coliseum that is set to debut during the 2019 season.
The A’s Stomping Ground will transform the south end of the Eastside Club, the seating area outside of the Eastside Club, and the patio behind the right field flagpoles into a fun and interactive space for kids of all ages. Construction is currently underway on the combined 18,000-square foot area.
The inside section of the A’s Stomping Ground will feature a stage and video wall for interactive events, a digital experience that gives youngsters the opportunity to race against their favorite A’s players or Stomper, replica A’s dugouts, a simulated hitting and pitching machine, foosball, and a photo booth.
The area outside the Eastside Club doors will include elephant structures, play areas, an AstroTurf grassy seating area for families to watch the game, drink rails for parents, and picnic tables. Additional features, including a miniature baseball field and a spiderweb play area, will be added to the A’s Stomping Ground during the season. The area will be available to all fans in the Coliseum.
The A’s Stomping Ground will include a dedicated kids retail stand and concessions with healthy and kid-friendly items.
The Club is also debuting the A’s Stomping Ground Family Pass, a monthly ticket subscription that gives families of four access to the A’s Stomping Ground during every A’s regular season home game in 2019. The Family Pass includes two all-age passes and two passes for kids 17 and younger. Families can add additional kids passes for $15 and additional adult passes for $29 per month.
“The A’s Stomping Ground is designed to give kids an amazing place to play and have fun without sacrificing views of the game for the adults,” said A’s COO Chris Giles. “We are also making it even easier for families to come to games with a flexible and affordable new Family Pass.”
The Family Pass has two pricing options: a monthly subscription for $79 per month for five months, or an annual fee of $399. Both options will auto-renew each season, with no cancellation fees at any time. The Family Pass grants access to the A’s Stomping Ground and general admission plaza-level outfield seating, but it does not provide access to other areas of the ballpark or include A’s Access benefits like 50% off concessions and 25% off merchandise.
