Adrian Beltré visits Academy; RBI leagues underway
Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltré made a special visit to the Texas Rangers Youth Academy at Mercy Street Sports Complex Presented by Toyota yesterday.
It marked Beltré's first time seeing the Academy's Globe Life Training Center, which includes Adrian Beltré Field. Beltré provided a financial donation to build the major league size infield that bears his name. The field is part of the 23,249 square foot indoor facility.
Beltré spent time touring the facility, in addition to meeting members of the Pinkston High School baseball team. The Pinkston Vikings, who qualified for the UIL Baseball Playoffs in 2018, practice and play their home games at the Academy.
The visit was made in conjunction with an announcement by The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation of a major partnership with Energy Transfer Partners for the Academy, which includes a one million dollar commitment that will be utilized for future programs and operations.
